REMEMBRANCE DAY

Every 11th of November  some countries (Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom) celebrate Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day or Poppy Day, is a day to remember people who fought and died in world wars.  People wear a paper poppy and at 11 o'clock on the 11th November, people are silent for two minutes. The first one is dedicated to soldiers that died and the second one is dedicated to their families. Do you remembar the history about this memorial? If you want, you can review the history here.

There is a very beautiful poem written by a First World War soldier which is known as Flanders Fields. You can listen to a part of this poem in the next video of Charlie Brown.

We wanted to make a memorial as well. Some classes made poppy wreaths and others made poppies to put on our landscape. Do you like the result?

We made a great effort. Look at the pictures, we worked a lot!

Christmas Story Time!

Before Christmas this year, every class came to the school library to hear a Christmas story in English and do an activity! The preschoolers read a book called Aliens Love Panta Claus , and afterwards decorated their own pairs of foam underwear with glitter, stickers, and other designs!  The 3rd and 4th graders read a story called Stick Man then made cutouts of the main character decorated with colored translucent paper.     Finally, in 5th and 6th grade, the students read a book called The Jolly Christmas Postman before playing a board game that was included with the story.
